Liner notes from album:
Mack Simmons has never been a real box office attraction and after 24 years in show biz it’s certainly time that America learns that Mack is truly the world’s greatest harmonica player. A giant leap forward was when Mack, booked by Delta Productions to open the show when he performed with some of the nations top recording artists under the banner of the international blues festival of 1975. More than 35,000 blues fans had an opportunity to see and hear Mack in what can be accredited as one of his most spectacular performances, two days later he headed for Paris France to begin his first European tour. It was on this trip that his talent was witnessed by more than 60,000 paid customers. Along with five of Chicago’s top blues musicians, they made blues history.
Mack Simmons, the musician is one of the most unusual. His singing harmonica has amazed thousands of fellow music makers. Yet he is forever rehearsing, recording, and creating new music. A firm believer that his God-given talent should be shared with everyone. One of the most remarkable habits of Mack is his strict eating of life cycle foods only – fruits, nuts, vegetables. He learned from a cousin, Pryor Young, to eat only living foods, would lead to longer life. He has lost more than 65 pounds in the slightly less than two years that he’s been eating for health and longer life. It works. He is a living example. His “new body” is a true example of the amazing progress made in such a short period of time. The words in Inflation Blues is the message from Mack Simmons, saying to continue to eat flesh is destructive to your body.
